GO Green! Switch up your beauty essentials.

Updated: Oct 9, 2020

It's no secret that you can look after yourself AND do your best to look after the environment too. Although it can sometimes feel a little scary changing from a product that you've used for years to something new, here at The Lifestyle Guide we'd like you just to consider a switch, a switch that could help not only your skin but also the planet.

Here are a few of our favourite beauty brands and products that promote sustainability, eco-friendly, zero waste, cruelty-free ingredients, reusable and recyclable.

If every single person makes a small change, big things can happen.. So are you ready? Lets go!

Make Up Removers

We all have our own face cleansing rituals throughout the day (and night) to make us feel refreshed and super clean, to wake yourself up, after a workout, after a day at work with a face full of make-up.

Switch: To Face Halo

Ditch: The facewipes and single use cotton pads

What is it?

The new cult beauty makeup remover that professional makeup artists, celebrities and people worldwide can’t live without. Using only water, Face Halo traps and removes makeup for a deep clean and gentle exfoliation. No need to rub or scrub - simply wet your Face Halo and gently wipe off your makeup. For heavier eye makeup, rehydrate your Face Halo (with water) and hold it on the eyes or eyelashes for an extra 5-10 seconds.

How is it sustainable?

Face Halo’s award-winning makeup remover is dual-sided and reusable, replacing up to 500 traditional makeup wipes – Quick, Easy, Clean. THEN, when its feeling a little shabby - wash it and send it back, Face Halo will take care of the recycling for you!

Anything Else?

Yes, the best deal? Usually £18 for 3, Boots currently have an amazing deal £7 per pad or 3 pads for £14.

Did you know the average person usually would use a make up wipe up to 720 times a year.. that's a big NO from us. So we're giving you another product that we love because it's Beautifully British. Made in the UK!

Ditch: The facewipes and single use cotton pads

What is it?

Eco-friendly cleansing pads - ideal for removing make up or applying toner. Each pad contains naturally antibacterial bamboo, which feels silky soft on your skin. Using your favourite make up removing brand or just water.

How is it sustainable?

The reusable make up pads are made from organic cotton and bamboo, and each pad is approximately 3 inches (7.5cm) across. The rounds can be washed and reused making them much more gentle on the planet, too. If you ever feel like your pads have come to the end of their life, you can simply cut them up (carefully please!) and add to your compost bin.

Anything else?

Yes, The best deal is from Wearth London who have a fantastic range of planet friendly products including the Tabitha Eve Makeup rounds. Just over £1.00 per pad delivered! (10 per pack).
